The 2025 International Conference on “Economics and Gender: Care Economy,” hosted by the National University of Mongolia and the University of Toronto, Canada, will be held from 18 to 19 September 2025 in the National University of Mongolia’s central library.
The Program Committee is calling for papers related to the conference theme and gender economics issues. We consider all academic papers that are applied, empirical, and policy-relevant and related to economic development, gender issues in economics, or the care economy. The conference will have concurrent sessions related to the main thematic directions. Possible topics for session titles and papers include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Economic development and gender
- Labor market issues
- Social policy
- Population economics
- Family economics
- Care economy
- Gender: Interdisciplinary research and teaching
PAPER SUBMISSION
Authors who wish to present a paper at the conference should submit an abstract of the proposed paper not exceeding 200 words to the conference committee members at:
otgontugs@num.edu.mn dashdulam.d@num.edu.mn by 15 May 2025.
Please indicate the session(s) you believe your paper is suitable for by listing up to three sessions at the bottom of the abstract. Abstracts should be submitted in MS Word format using the English language and Times New Roman font. Participants can serve as the corresponding and presenting author for a maximum of one submission. All paper presenters must also act as a discussant for one paper assigned by the Committee. Additionally, all participants are expected to attend the conference on both days. Please note that all presenters must submit a complete paper, which will be made available to all participants to facilitate the broadest possible intellectual discourse.
SESSION PROPOSAL
We welcome session organizers in addition to individual paper writers. Session organizers are responsible for providing a title and description of their session and inviting speakers and discussants to participate. SELECTION
The Program Committee will evaluate abstracts of proposed papers for the conference. The evaluation will be based primarily on the quality of the economic analysis that abstracts indicate the paper will contain and on the appropriateness of the proposed theme of the conference. The authors will be informed of the results of this evaluation by 15 June 2025.
FULL PAPER SUBMISSION
The deadline for submitting full papers selected for presentation is June 30, 2025. Detailed instructions will be provided to authors whose papers are chosen for the conference. Papers must adhere to APA style and format. They should not exceed 30 double-spaced A4 pages or 8,000 words using 12-point font. Submissions should be in MS Word format, written in English, using Times New Roman font, and sent to the Conference Committee via the submission portal at dashdulam.d@num.edu.mn.
