Visiting Lecturer

As part of the Erasmus Partnership program between the National University of Mongolia and Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, Dr. E. Schmoller, an anthropologist from the Central Asian Seminar of the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Humboldt University, conducted a teaching visit at the Department of History from March 25 to April 5, 2025.

Dr. Schmoller specialises in the anthropology of religion.

During the visit, Dr. Schmoller delivered two open seminars for faculty members and graduate students: “Where the Ancestors of Genghis Khan Dwelled: Place-making and the Negotiation of Identities in the Ural Region of Russia” on March 28, and “An Introduction to Material Religion” on April 3. Additionally, a lecture titled “Sufism in the Medieval Islamic World” was offered to undergraduate students.

Alongside faculty members and students from the Department of History, the seminars and lecture were also attended by researchers and lecturers in sociology and religious studies.

Доктор Е.Шмөллер нь шашны антропологийн чиглэлээр судалгаа хийдэг. Тэр бээр Түүхийн тэнхимийн багш нар, ахисан түвшний суралцагчдад зориулж 3-р сарын 28-нд “Where the Ancestors of Genghis Khan dwelled: Place-making and the Negotiation of Identities in the Ural region of Russia” сэдвээр, 4-р сарын 3-нд “An Introduction to Material Religion” сэдвээр тус тус нээлттэй семинар, бакалаврын оюутнуудад “Дундад зууны исламын ертөнц дэх суфизм” лекц уншив. Семинар, лекцэд түүхийн тэнхимийн багш нар, бакалавр болон ахисан түвшний суралцагчдаас гадна социологи, шашин судлалын судлаач, багш нар оролцлоо.
